#Projects/Services #Corporate
On June 28, 2010, ASATSU-DK INC. (ADK) established a wholly owned subsidiary, called Dai-Ichi Kikaku Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur (Petaling Jaya, Selangor). The new company started operations on August 10. This is ADK’s second based in Malaysia, after Asatsu-DK Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., which is already in full operation.
In the January-March quarter of 2010, Malaysia posted year-on-year GDP growth of 10.1%, and figures released by the Malaysian government indicate full-year growth of 6%. The Malaysian economy has recovered sharply since the previous year, with the magnitude of growth continuing to expand. Automobile sales, a key indicator of consumer trends, grew 16.8% year-on-year in the month of April, while purchasing sentiment for home electronics equipment and other high-priced items is also increasing.
ADK established the new subsidiary in order to support the local marketing efforts of Japanese companies operating in Malaysia, as those companies are expected to become more and more active in the future. In the process, ADK hopes to properly address the diversified needs of its clients.
An outline of the new company is shown below.
